Toys and stuff

Clay got married on saturday. Wedding went well and everything came out okay. I got a little teary eye'd when her Brother was singing and song and sort of broke down. Then when her dad (the preacher) annouced them.. he got choked up.

I got to dance with Clay's mother too. :) She's makes me laugh with her coments. She's a great mother and I appreciate her for raising Clay the way she did.

My toast that I was all worried about went off without a hitch. I did have a little shakey voice during it.. but nothing too bad. Everyone said you couldn't tell.. but I could. Courtney (the maid of honor) had a wonderful toast as she welcomed Clay into "her" family. It was nice and she did a fine job.

I was best man for this.. so I felt I had to be comedy relief. The handing over of the ring had a little Macerana dance move with me checking all my pockets. The toast also had some bits in it. All in all.. a good time.

I've been checking out some old Supra links. Some of you know I'm a car guy and I've been all over the place attending meets for this car. Been doing that since 96 or so. Ive met some great people, and many of those people I've befriended and talk to today about everything else other than car stuff. Thats how I met Gene.

Here are some of the old meets we had. Back when a meet was a meet and 20 cars was a huuuge turnout.

This one was a small meet at Gingerman located in western Michigan. My car is the one with the wheel off. I boiled my brake fluid, and had NO brakes left after this. My car is still not correct from the braking problems I had that day. I need to pressure bleed the system since there is likely air in the ABS actuators.

I see many people I know in these pictures. DaveM (before his bulking), Mike Kronvold, Jeff Randall, Jim Jobe, the Carlile brothers, James Razor, Matt Talbert, Nick Holden, and Ben Kalika who's page is the 2nd link.

That brings me back. I bet I was about 30 pounds heavier in those pictures.

well well well

No big parties for me to attend. I figured the wedding group would be all amped to go out and riase some hell. This is not the case. Everyone is suuuuper busy with everything going on and thus has no time for dancing and drinks and stuff. Oh well. My wedding will be sooo different. I'll be the one wanting to run around with my bride to be dancing and having a good ole time with all of my friends and all of her friends. I think that's how a wedding should be.. a joyous occasion with friends the days before, and with friends and family the night of. maybe I'm wrong.. thats how I feel tho. :)

I bought a new stock radio from ebay. I hope it works forever in the car. The current one will not play CD's anymore.. and it pissed me off one night. So.. like a horse with a broken leg, I put it down. I gave it a jab and busted the LCD. A bit of aggression perhaps? One of my pet peeves is having stuff that doesn't work correctly. If I have something that plays CDs, it should play CDs. Not fourty-seven percent of the time, all the time. Bottomline.

I wrote a toast to my friend Clay for his reception. I figured it would be harder than it was.. but I just wrote about history. How they met.. how she's stealing him away from me.. how sorry I am for getting him into this predicament. I wonder if I'll make it thru the ceremony and toast without shedding a tear or two. Hopefully I can.. gotta focus man focus. Focus on that bridesmaid that I'm supposed to hookup with. ;) Ahh well.. it shows I have heart and character.. or am a big sap. One of the two.

Problee won't have another update until sunday since I'm doing the wedding gig friday nite and Saturday. thats fine.. Gene hasn't had an update for a while either. Since he had a good hair day actualy. Nor has my friend Christy who got me into the blogging lifestyle. She's at christycasassa.blogspot.com. Check her out. just don't expect updates. I'm suuure she'll appreciate my mention of her here.

Caio kids.

T minus 1 day and counting...

Untill I start down a road of utter drunkeness for the next four days. Wednesday, beers at his house.. thursday nite out with the wedding party for clubin.. friday Carb day in indy.. friday nite rehersal dinner.. saturday.. the event takes place. Then you know saturday nite will be big. I wonder if there is a beer only diet out there. Thats what I need to invent. I'm sure it'd be a huuuge seller.

Played golf monday at Rolling Meadoes Golf Course between Spencer and Elletsville on IN46. That wore me out. Not knowing a course and not having the ability of putting the ball where I want it spells disaster. I think I lost more balls there in that one day, than I have all last year. At least it was close. Very tight fairways, and lots of tall grass to hide your balls. I quite keeping score it was sooo bad. And bad is 60s on the front nine. Horrible.. absolutely horrible. I think it'd be better if I played it again and it the wind wasn't gusting to 40 some mph. Bad combination.

I need a new CD player in teh truck. I want a Navigation deal.. but don't wanna pay for it. As is everything that I want. I think I'm going to ebay a used stock radio and run with that. maybe it'll give me 3 or 4 years of trouble free play. Toyota makes crap CD players for some reason. not sure why. They are from Fujistu Ten.. same people who make Eclipse. Maybe they spend more time and money on their name branded items.

I like that BK commercial with Darth Vader. The one where vadar knocks on a guys door who just won the mil in some BK contest. Vadar proclaims that he is the guys father. Guy shoots back.. no your not. Vadar retors.. I am you uncle. Guy shuts door in vadar's face. Funny stuff.

I haven't called a recruiter in a week. I need to call a few of them back tomorrow and let them I'm not interested in these trailer industry jobs they are trying to set me up with. A friend who has friends in this industry at different companies tells me its all the same no matter where you go. All his friends say the same stuff. I'd rather NOT jump into a rats nest like I was in before. Oh well.. CLT is calling my name. At least Gene said it was. :) We'd have a blast together. Wonder what I could do to make some coin down there? I'll have to take a look at Charlotte's industry to see whats up.

Ze Veekend.

So my buddy Jim messages me.. and tells me that he found a buyer for my turbokit on the car. Wow. This is a chance to sell a big part of this car for a decent amount of buckage. Only problem is.. I dunno if i want to. I'm such a damn idiot. i should sell.. and never look back. Something is pushing me to keep the heep and make it faster. I'm a damn idiot. I'm putting together a motor for it right now and am interested in how it will run with the improvements of bigger valves and slightly bigger pistons. it was already a strong running, so it should be even better now. :)

My buddy Clay gets married next weekend. I'm the best man, so I've been looking up best man stuff. I've read some toats.. but thats weak sauce to copy something from the internet for a special occasion such as this. I'm going to have to spend some time on this. think up some things taht we've done in the past that were a little questionable in the law's eyes. Obviously, only if the statute of limitations has expired.

Still nothing on the job front. I just cranked out about 30 resumes on monster.. so I'll get some calls from those tomorrow. The reality is that I'm going to school in the fall to enroll in the engineering program at IUPUI. If thats something that I wanna do. Not really sure. That means selling the LC. :( Oh well.. good thing I've still got the car to fall back on. I'll also likely be moving there as well and working at some wanker job while I'm in school. Blah.
WTH am I gonna do when I grow up. Parent's think I'm crazy for thinking of moving to a large city and finding a job. Mother says that you can pick up a phone here just as well as you can pick up the phone there. I kinda think thats untrue. I think a company would be more apt to hire someone local, than to bring someone in from another location and pay their relocation costs. At least in a large metropolitain area, there are job. Unlike this small town of no opportunity.

Bit-O-Honey is yummy for my tummy.

I hate titles. i think from hence forth, I'm going to pick an item and make it my title. Creativity is lacking on this end.

Just looked up how long it would take me to drive to SoCal. 2004 miles and 30 hours and 3 minutes. Wonder how long it would really take me. i'd be rockin the land cruiser so I'd likely only drive 73 or so miles an hour. I'd like to do 80, but MPG seems to suffer. I'm sure I'd be able to give it a good look to see what the best mpg is. I bet it'd be right at the speed limit. Top gear.. low RPMs.. lesser coeffient of drag as well. Hmmm.

Interleage play started today as well for the MLB guys. I think this will be the first time I've gotten a chance to watch a televised Red Sox game this year. Starts at 6pm on TBS. :) I'm stoked.

I didn't work out today either. I guess I'll have to do it tomorrow during the day.

Daily Dose.

I gotta hair cut Tuesday evening. All the chicks there are hawwwwt. Oh so hot. Fire. Lava. Like the sun, yoh. Yummy. Amy does me up right on the hair. I think I entertain her, and little did I konw.. others around there. I was telling her a story about my adventures in AC while she's shampooing me up. I get comments from 3 differente people regarding my story. I told Amy that I'm going to start charging for the entertainment since I'm such a big draw. Amy bought a house.. she's stoked about it. :) I'm happy for her. Dee is the girl up front. She likes to go out and have drink.. lots of drinks. I like how she rolls.

Wednesday I had an interview at Bemis for a project Engineer Position. i think they are going to try and pigeon hole me into a CAD spot with them. I'd rather NOT do that.. since CAD stuff is kinda boring. i'd rather be makign changes and improving things. Oh well.. at least its a foot in the door. Gary Brown, and old Cummins guy I'd talk with when I was in school is now their HR director. i recognized him, and he recognized me. Hopefully that'll help me out. We'll see.

Should a job not come up.. I've gotta go back to school. The likely choice would be engineering.. but math man. ugh. I'm bad at math. I should really study up on my stuff now since I've got time. I've also had thoughts of going into law school. Everyone thinks that its hard.. but there are SOOOO many lawyers. Its can't be THAT tough. Likely lots of reading.. maybe I'll have a hard time at getting in. Who knows. I guess I'm at a point where I don't know what to do with my life. i'm a car nut.. so doing something with that would be cool. I've got a fiornd out in SoCal that told me if I come out there.. he'll put me to work. He's well connected in that car scene out there and knows lots of people. i'd LOVE that job. Modifiying cars for a living. Altho mechanics are typically old and worn down. When's the last time you've seen a 50 year old mechanic that looked like he was 50. Usually they look much older. maybe it'd be a job to get me some income, and help me get back on my feet. That'd also put me in a LARGE metropolitian area in order to find another job. I think Aiden would be cool if I would do that. It'd just be hard getting my crap out there. Altho I could do it. And I bet I'd have a blast doing it too.

Weekend update.. with aaalan jooordan.

Whew. Long time no update. So lets hit it like the Red

Now... onto last weekend. Some of you know that I took off to Philly to visit my good friend Jerry and then to Atantic City to take some of their money.

I about missed my friggen flight out of Indy. WTH. I get to the aiport about 45 mins before flight time and satnd in this line ot check in at the curb. Pretty easy thing to do.. but everyone else was doing it as well. Most of hte people were retarded and had problems or didn't know what was going on. Finally.. I get to the kiosk and go ot check my bag as I've already checked in via the web the night before. The screen comes up to see an NWA Rep inside. So inside i go. There is a guy walking around so I ask him whats up. He tells me to go to first class line since my flight is a half our from leaving. I get to first class, and the lady tells me i can't check this bag since checked baggage must be in 30 mins prior.. and that I'm missing the flight. She then asks where the bag is i need to check. I point out the bag in frotn of her.. and she says.. you don't need ot check that. Thats small enough as a carry on. SO off I go. I'm thru security in about 15 minutes.. so I've got about 15 minutes to spare until my flight leaves. Piece of cake.

I get into Phily and Jerry picks me up. We head to a ship museaum. Pretty cool sutff. Most of the ships are miniature versions of the real thing in some scale. We walk around there for an hour or so then take a walk thru of a submarine and an old naval ship. Some guys who sailed on the sub were down in the main control room so we stopped and talked to thme for a short time. They answered our questions, and showed us little things about the sub that we wouldn't have observed normally.

Friday nite we caugh a Phillies and Reds game. That was a good time. We could have sat wherever we wanted depending upon what we wanted to pay for tickets. its nice to walk up to a ballpark and get tickets that easily. We met and Jason and Melissa there. They are friends of Jerry and Ann. Neat people. I like how they roll.

Then it was back to Jerry's for a Tiger Woods. Jerry won by 2 strokes, and Jason was behind me by 1. Not bad at all for someone who's never played that game.

Saturday.. Jerry made a kickin breakfast. I think I should just go live there so I can get that stuff all the time. It was excellent.

I left Kevin a voice mail.. but didn't get a return call. Not all day. Booooo!! Apparently he was working all day and wasn't able to make it out. its 170 miles or some from him to AC.. so that would have been a drive. We'll catch him next time I'm sure.

We arrive at Ceaser's and check into our comp'ed room. :) Pretty sweet to stay there for free.

We head to the casino to check things out. Nothing but $25 tables. We're looking for elcheapo tables. i'd like my hunny to last more than 4 hands of black jack. After some walking around we hit the Tropicanna. $15 talbles. We're on. We're doing pretty well too. I think I'm up about $300 or $400 and end the 6 hour playing marathon with $300ish in my pocket. Not bad. We hit up the local hooters, which is also in the Tropicanna for dinner. I do a dozen oysters with a burger and fries. Good food. Oh ya.. a pitcher of beer too.

I think jerry brings up the idea of a nudie joint, so I yell at a guy and ask if he's local and if he knows of a good strip club thats close. He tells us of one just a block away or so. We chekc it out. Its all nude. Crazy stuff. They didn't sell alky in there, but there was liquor store right next door that did sell carry out. $14 bucks later we're sitting outside this club waiting ot get in with a 12 pack fo bud light. After about 30 mins of waiting, we finally get in. I think money talks around here since I kept seeing people moved from one line to another line. I think they were slipping the door guys some $20s.. or maybe a hunny or two. We both got a neck massage from this (clothed) chick. $10 each and she took care of us. Its felt pretty good.. but I think I wouldn't have paid $10 for it. I guess I'm not a massage kinda person.

We leave there and hit the caino for a quick game... since we're drunk. We promptly loose 100 in 3 hands. No good.. oh well I'm still up. After this.. we try slots for a few minutes. I leave there up $15 or so. Jerry drops $30.

We sleep untill about noon. Wake up and do lunch at the Hard Rock on the boardwalk Good food and I ate big. A 12oz. NY strip with checken breaast on the side. The chicken was excellent. it could be some of the best chicken I have ever eaten. maybe thats cause I was hungry tho.. who knows.

We bail outta there, and hit ceasar's to win back our dinner. Before we walked in, I told jerry, If I double my money.. I'm out. Well.. I do that in about 15 minutes. Jerry talks me into staying in since we have an hour and a half to kill. I do.. and proceed to loose my winnings. not a big deal since I got a few drinks, and got to paly for an hour. We then do ice cream as some janky shop on teh boardwalk. One of those choclate vanilla swirl cones that you'd get as kid at the tasty freeze.. or whatever mom and pop ice cream joint was around the corner.

Peep my moblog, yoh.

The Day Before Tomorrow...

Its day 2. Sass is all over about this. She's really diggin it.

I'm leaving for Philly in about 9 hours. In fact.. i leave Inyd at 6:45. So I plan to arrive at the airport at 6. I've already checked in, and baggage will be no big deal as northwest has a kiosk that I can check it at. Then send it thru the scanners. I think it took me like 30 minutes from ariving at the airport to being ready to get on the flight. Some people give it like 2 hours or something crazy like that. i've found that if you're in line for security, and you're plane is ready to leave.. they'll push you thru security.

I played golf today.. shot a 44. First time this year seeing the back 9 at oak ridge. I think thats 2 strokes better than my best game last year. I really should start playing 2 to 3 times a week. See if I can get that to sink under 40 for a round. i like palying golf with dad. It makes me happy to spend some time with him. I know soon, I'll have a job far away and I won't be able to do that, so I'm living it up right now. Too bad mother can't join us as we go early to beat the crowd. I think I shot better at oak ridge, which is a harder course, than I did at Mark's par 3. Weird, eh?

Went to Terre haute to get some assembly lube from my buddy Stroot. I want one of those nifty ALpine navigation systems with the touch screen. I think I'll have one soon. I'll ebay that sucker and get it for 6 or 700 less than street price. Maybe if I score big in Atlantic City this weekend (from Philly to AC.. see above) I'll have one sonner than I think. I'm taking 400, and plan to gamble 300 of that. I'll let you know how I do.

Oh.. had a good salad over at bw3's. That along with a coor's light. Good stuff.

firstly...

First post... kinda weird. Friend put me up to it. Of course.. isn't that how must things are done. your friends telling you to do something.. or challenging you to do something. Thanks Sass. Appreciate it. As if I don't have enough things going on in my life right now. Ehh.. maybe it'll help me score chicks. Suuure.

So I went on a hunting spree today armed with wasp spray. We've got this foaming crap that you've gotta be pretty exact with. I don't dig it. I did get one bumblebee who was like 2 inches long. I get all freaked out from these types of flying and stinging creatures. Not sure why. I'll run from the lil bastards or jump around and swat at them if they fly near me. I get wigged out when i hear the low hum from their wings. Man.. i hate that.

I also started building a motor today. Put the crank in the block with teh bearings and all. Shouldn't be too far from being done. Now if I can just get the motivation to do more to it.

i had a recruiter call me like four times today. George Harvery from fayetteville NC. I like talking to him.. seems like a pretty funny character. I should call him tomorrow as an engineering manager wants to talk to me from a company that is on Forbe's top 200 places to work. Apparently.. a VERY good company. Not sure that i'm qualified for the spot tho. That seems to be the problem with not have and engineering degree, and looking for jobs in the engineering field. Ehh. Whatever.

I'm livin' on the state's money now. The "state" is going on vacation to Atlantic City to visit with a couple close friends. It'll be a good time for sure. maybe I'll use the state's money o make a little of my own. That'd be nice if I could fun my trip. The room and our food for saturday nite is paid in full, so not a big deal there. If I could make enough to pay for my $185 place ticket, and $20 parking, and we'll say.. $40 in food for the weekend. I'll be friggen stoked. Thats really not outside the realm of possibilities as the last time I was there, I made $100 turn into $375. I'll be stoked if I can get my ticket paid for honestly. Err.. I'll be stoked if I get to hang out with my friends. Thats REALLY what this trip is all about.
